Tamara Pawson – Owner and Property Manager

I founded Hassle Free Rentals to offer a smarter, more personal approach to property management. I take a hands-on approach to everything, and I’m intentional about keeping the business at a size where that’s possible. From onboarding new team members and refining our processes to crafting property ads that actually get read, I care about doing things properly and with purpose. After studying at Victoria University in Wellington, I started my career in property management and never looked back. Moving to Hawke’s Bay in 2016 to launch Hassle Free Rentals was the best move I’ve ever made. As a residential and commercial property investor myself, I bring a unique lens to every decision. I’ve built this business around values, great communication, and genuine care – not just for our clients, but for our tenants and the team that makes it all happen. Outside of work, I love tackling triathlons and adventure races for a bit of fun, but nothing tests stamina quite like a full day of inspections!

Sandra Pilten – Assistant Property Manager

Originally from Sweden, Sandra brings fresh energy and quiet determination to the office. As our Assistant Property Manager, she’s already proving herself to be a quick learner and a steady presence - supporting inspections, managing the viewings for available homes, and learning all about keeping our systems in order. With a sharp eye for detail and a calm, can-do attitude, she fits right in with our team. Outside of work, Sandra’s often found clocking up kilometres – she’s a keen runner who knows a thing or two about pacing herself (especially on inspection days!) 

Sally Pearce – Administration

Sally joined Hassle Free Rentals 18 months ago , and after running her own cleaning company for 20 years, she brings a knack for systems and a calm command of the day-to-day and is the steady hand behind our office. From managing healthy homes and reconciling rents to keeping our records sharp and our inboxes sane, she’s the glue that holds it all together. She loves to see Xero reconciled and every lockbox accounted for! Her mix of humour, maturity, and methodical thinking makes Sally a natural fit for our values-driven team – and she is a favourite among tenants and tradies alike (if they don't have outstanding work orders!!)
